I would definitely recommend this class to anyone interested in fashion design or draping. I have taken both draping and pattern making courses and I found these to be concise and straight to the point. Each lesson was easy to follow and easy to understand, although I would have liked a little more detail. I am looking forward to taking more classes with Nino!
Julie Glasser ~ Designer
“Very clear and concise instructions — neither too vague nor too wordy. Great audio and visual examples that were easy to follow. If you needed review a step from earlier in the course/video, the instructor mentioned where to go without interrupting the flow of the lesson. Mr. Via is an experienced teacher and video-maker, and it shows. I really appreciate that he included his email so you can contact him directly with follow-up questions. Also, I found the “evening-news” musical segues between each section all of the video rather endearing.”

“Simply amazing, I wish he could post every month, I will definitely be watching him all the time. I can’t afford fashion school, I learned a lot from him; please don’t stop making those lessons :) “

~ Tiffani Savage
“I really can't fault the lessons. I enjoyed their brevity and the quick slow from one subject to the next. Points were not labored. The shortness helped to keep me engaged and keen to move to the next area. Very well done. Thank you”.

“This class was the perfect Draping class for beginners! I just ordered my first dress form and wanted to proactively learn some draping techniques before my form arrives… This class exceeded my expectations with the clear-cut instruction and fitting examples! I also love the extra information that I learned about the fabrics and the dress form as well. Very nicely executed! Can't wait to see what other classes Nino Via has to offer…”

“I've been sewing for years using commercial patterns and never understood how did they were developed. Now armed with this knowledge I feel that I it will be better able to alter patterns to fit me and yes, even venture into making my own patterns. This was inspiring for me since I have struggled to get that perfect fit. Now I am armed and ready to improve.”
~ Rebekah Yoder
"Having completed a Pattern making course at my local college many years ago and without any success at making my own patterns I left it.
During lock down in the Uk I decided to take up pattern making again so I looked on line and saw a few courses which I looked at but did not really understand, then hey presto I saw Nino doing pattern manipulation and this lesson just stood out from the rest.
His lessons are so informative and easy to follow it makes you want to get out your pencil and paper and have a go. Pattern making is very complex and I find looking at the same lesson 3 or 4 times is a great help.
I am so interested in this subject I practice every day and am looking forward to designing making a pattern and getting out my sewing machine and finishing the job.
Thanks Nino, you are a star!"

COVID-19 PUSHES FASHION DESIGN SCHOOLS INTO AN INCREASINGLY DIGITAL FUTURE
Online classrooms present particular challenges for students seeking hands-on skills — but creative solutions are on the horizon.
MOLSHREE VAID - Updated: MAR 23, 2020
Pre-recorded videos are one of the obvious solutions and taking a page from online instructor Nino Via's handbook might be helpful. He teaches pattern-making and draping courses on Fashion Premier Academy, an e-learning platform.
"Use good visual editing tools to highlight close-up details clearly and explicitly of the technique that's being demonstrated," he says. "Anticipating students' questions, I focus specifically on certain areas of design in the video that support students to achieve the objectives of the class."
